This is our first post for our blog to introduce SRV Photos and the people behind the camera. We are photographers, but our experiences has shaped us into talented and dedicated photographers. We care deeply about our clients and the communities we serve, and we strive to provide excellent service and results.
A New Photography Business
We won’t go into depth about our personal history, you can visit the about page for more information regarding that aspect. We are a new business that was planning to begin in March of this year. Unfortunately, COVID-19 happened at the same time, so we had to place our dreams on hold. It has allowed us time to complete a few things, but we were disappointed that everything was postponed and many activities canceled. Our hearts go out to the High School Seniors, many who won’t get the chance to compete in sports and other activities.
Thus, the plans we had made with friends and family to take photos for our portfolio never occurred. However, we are happy to announce that we are the official photographers for the 4th District Idaho High School Rodeo. They are planning to have their first rodeo of the season on May 15 so they can be ready for the High School Rodeo finals that begin on June 13.
Why We Started SRV Photos
Snake River Valley Photography formed to provide a service to SE Idaho that we feel wasn’t being offered. Taking photos that mean something to the subject is important, but we also want it to tell a story to the casual observer.
Sports are popular, but keep in mind action shots aren’t our only focus (pun intended). There’s a whole lotta subjects out there waiting for us to capture. Think about a hobby you have and how fun it would be to have professional photos of you doing “your thing”. Examples would be fly-fishing, riding dirt bikes, mountain biking, playing an instrument, and the list goes on and on.
We want to give you a gift that you can treasure for the rest of your life and one that you can share with your loved ones. We don’t have an indoor studio, so we travel to you and meet at an outside location (or a pre-arranged indoor location).
Plans for the Near Future
We will photograph the high school rodeo for the rest of the month and Pocatello Lacrosse is also starting up again – so we are planning to take photos for them. If you’ve never watched lacrosse, we invite you to come out sometime and enjoy a game. Games will begin in mid-June, with the season finishing at the end of July.
As soon as they receive the ok, we will take photos for the Eastern Idaho Team Penning, Sorting, and Branding Association. We are excited to be working with all three groups this summer!
We also enjoy taking landscape photos during our travels, so you will see landscape pictures dispersed throughout the site. Visit our portfolio page where you can purchase some of our favorite landscape photos. We love Idaho, and it is a beautiful state worthy of showing off.
Rodeo and Lacrosse athletes will be featured on our blog this month, so stay tuned for more to come. You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates. Take some time to explore our website and if you have questions or you want to book a session, just reach out to us.
